A historic hotel that was born next to the Empúries site: between classical culture and the sea.
The ancient Greeks created the colony of Empòrion that gave its name to Empordà, a geographical area that covers the north-east of the Girona counties. In this same place there was later a Roman city which was one of the most prominent enclaves of the time. At the end of the s. XIX already began to be excavated, and since then it has been in the spotlight of archaeologists. It was to accommodate this scientific community that the Villa Teresita cafe began offering rooms in 1919, and thus the Empúries Hostal was born. In 2007, a deep renovation of the building - whose facade is protected by l'Escala City Council - was undertaken, which has brought this emblematic establishment up to date with taste and great success. Now, it is a small and charming hotel, in a place that has a taste of ancient history and the Mediterranean. And where, in addition, you can eat wonderfully. A perfect place for a spring weekend!
Modern rooms with sea views through a beautiful window.
The villa teresita restaurant* is a gastronomic space of eco-Mediterranean cuisine with its own menu that offers local, ecological, modern cuisine full of pure tastes and nuances.
