Aquamarine is a precious stone whose name means “sea water”. It is not strange that it is considered the stone of luck by the sailors. This gem belongs to the beryl’s group, like emeralds. In the aquamarine gemstone, the color is distributed in a homogeneous way and is usually more transparent than in the emerald. If the sun light touches the aquamarine, light rays can occur in a six-pointed star shape. The largest aquamarine in the world was found in 1910 in the Mines of Gerais, in Brazil. It weighed 110.5 kg, measured 48.5 cm in length and almost 42 cm in diameter.
