Mariangels Arbusé

I'm Mariangels, I'm 43 years old, I'm married and I have two children, Gina, 14, and Pau, 13. I lived in Llagostera until I got married. My parents still have a bakery there. As a child, I loved standing behind the counter and serving customers, offering them the latest news, making new proposals... Do you know that one of the breads still sold in the bakery bears the name I gave it?

The Bread Smiles!

On Sunday afternoons we went out to discover corners of Catalonia. These were the classes I liked the most: my father's telling us our history, making us discover the beauty in the paintings in museums and churches! He painted and this closeness with the brushes made me also experiment with painting. It is not surprising that this world became one of my current passions: teaching art, and also music, to the students of Les Alzines school.

But, back to that time, my mother always took pictures on these excursions and developed them herself. We have some fascinating family albums with my three siblings: Carme, Jaume and Imma. Now I see that my mother lit this first flame , that of capturing moments through photographs. It's a great hobby that I share with my sisters and, nowadays, Instagram has allowed us to promote it.

For four years now, my great passion has been the Instagram gallery @ gironamimpulsa , born from the fascination I have for Girona. A city that never ceases to surprise me with how beautiful it is, the secret corners it hides, the history it has. The old facades, the shops, the shops, the gastronomy, the fashion, the solidarity... Everything amazes me, especially the people who live there. People who exude friendliness, creativity, industriousness, craft and a desire to undertake. All this is what I aim to capture in the @gironamimpulsa. I like to share where they make the best bread, where they sell the most beautiful dresses, the most spectacular jewelry, the most cosmopolitan brunches , the most special flower bouquets, the must-see exhibitions, etc. In other words, I include everything that, from my point of view, helps to make life more beautiful, interesting, vibrant , inspiring. I am stimulated by many images, knowledge and learning, but above all a word moves me to live:

to love, which is to want the good of the other.

It's a workout, the more you do it, the less it costs.
