Aquamarine is a gemstone whose name means sea water. No wonder it is considered the lucky stone by sailors. It is a gem that belongs to the beryl group, along with emeralds. In aquamarine the color is distributed homogeneously and is usually more transparent than in emerald. If light hits it, its reflection is white, and sometimes even six-pointed star-shaped rays of light can be produced. The largest aquamarine in the world was found in 1910 in the Mines of Gerais, Brazil. It weighed 110.5 kg, measured 48.5 cm long and almost 42 cm in diameter.
