We have always shared an entrepreneurial, fighting and brave spirit. We even share the same birthday! We were born on January 24th, just half an hour apart. You could say that we are almost twins, and indeed we feel that way. Chance brought us together again as adults, while we were working in a hotel. We both had the need to create our own project in which to believe and project our way of being and of understanding the world. We were also united by a great passion for gastronomy and a great love for our territory. We knew that in Girona, land of great and star chefs, there was a lack of space to live experiences around the culinary world.
So why not create it ourselves?
We focused our initial project on opening a small gourmet shop well stocked with artisanal and local products. We evolved it into a catering service that responded to this same philosophy. The world of catering was quite a school for us. Making a fuss, cooking, organizing, making orders... but, above all, learning to manage moments of nervousness and find solutions without losing your cool. In the beginning, the hours are not productive. You spend a lot of time on it all, because you lack so much knowledge... At this point, physical and psychological wear and tear is inevitable, to which is added a minimal profit return. But, without knowing how, you wake up every day full of energy, ready to eat the world. They already say it...
When you start, you become a different breed!
After a crazy first six months, we felt the need to stop. To stop to think.
Where did we want to go?
This reflection helped us to weave a small infrastructure and organize ourselves better. In addition, we were able to see new needs and market niches. People liked that we explained the history and provenance of each product, they wanted to know what they could accompany each bite with... Let's be there.
The new Local Market project is being renewed again and we are betting on an Aula Gastron ó mica . We have the feeling that we are starting again from scratch, but the truth is that we are accompanied by the baggage of all these first years in which we learned a lot. Now we know that the most important thing is to believe in yourself and that you need to reinvent yourself to adapt to people's needs. People no longer pay just for a service, now they want to live experiences.
There is only one way to get excited and that is to do things from the heart.
