Carme Vila

If I look back, I see that there are three common denominators in all the projects I have undertaken and many of the experiences I have had.

The first, feeling great curiosity, excitement and desire for what I want to achieve. The second, overcome laziness and fears and carry it out. The third, learn from mistakes.

I've been lucky enough to always work in front of the public and I've learned so much! I have heard many times how I wish I had . So, I try to make decisions in order to say as little as possible.

When I finished my degree I had a steady job that I liked but I was suffocated by the fact that I had my life sorted and secure. So I quit my job and bought a ticket to Southeast Asia. One way only That trip marked a before and after in my life.

That's when, with my brother Narcís, we decided to set up Naturaki. We combined his knowledge of the internet and web creation with mine in tourism and customer service. The project started in the middle of the crisis, when the rural tourism sector was very weak. We incorporated four key elements into rural accommodation management: technology, marketing, customer service and owner service. We are currently a team of ten people, nine women and one man, and everyone shares this philosophy, which is to ensure that people who are on vacation live a unique experience in our accommodations.

I also have another great passion, which is to travel . The last getaway I made was to Madagascar, all by myself. One issue that really struck me is that of female prostitution and the absence of NGOs that help girls get out of it, as I have seen in many other countries. Back then, my initial intention was to create a travel blog to raise funds for the cause, but I had to rethink that idea in order to combine it with my current resources and possibilities.

I've always thought that I'm surrounded by inspiring and powerful women that I look up to.

All of them have in common the will to find a reason to change and improve their lives or those around them. So, I decided to create a blog to give them a voice. Their stories can help empower women of other ages, countries and walks of life. On March 8, Working Women's Day, I inaugurate compartiendoalas.com . The intention is for this blog to evolve into a physical meeting point , where we can share concerns and synergies. what do you think
