Hostal Empúries, a classic in Empordà!

The Ancient Greeks founded the colony of Emporion which has given its name to the Empordà, a region in the northeast of Girona province. Later on, the Romans also built a city here, one of the most important settlements at the time. Work started on excavating both sites at the end of the 19th century and has attracted many archaeologists since then. To house this scientific community, the cafeteria Villa Teresita started to offer rooms in 1919, and this was how the Hostal Empúries came about. The building underwent extensive reforms in 2007, bringing this emblematic establishment up-to-date but with a great deal of taste and style, as well as adding a Spa for a range of health and beauty treatments. Now it’s a small but charming hotel, a place infused with ancient history and the Mediterranean. And where you can also eat incredibly well. The perfect place for a spring weekend!
